Louvres clad landmark apartment block, Bournemouth
Working closely with main contractors, Greenwood Louvre helped create the stunning exterior of the Terrace Mount project in the seaside town of Bournemouth. The scheme was designed by architects Cube and White Ink, and includes two hotels and exclusive apartments, in three blocks. A high level 13 storey block includes a 172 bedroom Hilton hotel, with 14 apartments on the upper floors; meanwhile, a low level block has a 120 bedroom Hampton by Hilton hotel. A third block includes 45 apartments constructed above a 224 space underground car park.
Greenwood Louvre’s work on the project covered the design from top to bottom. At the rooftop level, louvred screens shroud the plant room areas, with safe access assured for maintenance. For the essential means of escape stairs, a fire engineering solution was developed to include AOV (automatic opening ventilators), ensuring their integrity and usability in a fire situation for all building occupants.
